...which means your zone of genius is the WHAT.

Trail Blazers are big picture people - who are great at coming up with ideas that have never been done before, by thinking outside of the box.

They can see, in their mind’s eye, EXACTLY what things will look like on a large scale, and in the long term, but can struggle sometimes to break their vision down into smaller scale, shorter term tasks.

Trail Blazers are often CEOS, but don’t have to be. The day to day runnings of the business definitely don’t set their soul on fire - and so they’re happiest when they’re thinking, feeling and making those thoughts and feelings come to life.

Trail Blazers prefer to hand over everything but the innovative and creative processes if possible, so they can continue to move the business in the direction of their dreams.

Always one step ahead, they have to be quick to action. However, Trail Blazers can oftentimes wind up not completing projects, because they keep having their head turned by other shiny objects!

Their energy is strongest when not under stress. Right brained Boss Babes, they perform better when they’re in their feminine, creating the space for sparks of inspiration to come to them, and for their creative juices to flow.
▲ Innovation
Trail Blazers are great at coming up with ideas for products, services, and entire businesses and brands, that have never been done before. They’re also good at thinking outside of the box to ideate ways in which to make existing things bigger and better, to make more impact and income. CIOs (chief innovation officers) of businesses usually have this personality type.
▲ Creation
Creation - especially content creation - is also a strong suit of Trail Blazers, who find their flow doing arty-type tasks. Copywriting might be something Trail Blazers can quite quickly and easily turn their hand to, or even graphic design. In the corporate world, Trail Blazers might find themselves doing either (or both) of these things, but they are also well placed in the likes of creative direction whether that’s heading up a project in a commercial company, or coming up with concepts as a CEO for other team members to carry out. In business, Trail Blazers are also well suited to strategy. This is one of the areas in which CEOS are often best placed!
▲ Moving the Needle
One of the great things about Trail Blazers is how quick they are to take action. When they see something in their mind, they want to hold it in their hand YESTERDAY, and they aren’t afraid to make messy moves (when things are around 80 or 90% done) to make that happen as soon as possible. Trail Blazers therefore make great leaders, as well as innovators and creatives.

▲ Staying on Task/Completing Projects
Trail Blazers can struggle to stay on task. This personality type is inspired by so much, and so often, that they often move onto the second task and the third task… before they’ve finished the first one. This can lead to Trail Blazers racing to catch a deadline, or miss them altogether. It can also lead to projects being started but not completed… discarded while the Trail Blazer moves onto something that excites them more!
▲ Small Details
In being zoomed out to look at the big picture so often, Trail Blazers sometimes forget to zoom in to look at the small details. They can be guilty of seeing products, services (and even people!) for their potential, sometimes, rather than for what (or who) they are. This can lead to disappointment for Trail Blazers if/when things don’t work out. They’re big dreamers, and if/when the reality doesn’t match their dreams, they can wind up feeling deflated.
▲ Management
Trail Blazers can have a hard time managing people, because they have such high expectations of others. They have a tendency to be over-optimistic as to what they and other people can achieve, and if people don’t do things as well or as quickly as they do, it can leave them feeling frustrated and wanting to take on not just their own tasks, but everybody else’s as well! The downside of wanting things done ASAP as a Trail Blazer, is that they don’t always take into account the logistics of operation. Putting plans in place for project management can be just as hard a task as people management is for a Trail Blazer.

Collaboration over Competition
Trail Blazers love to innovate and create, Super Connectors love to communicate and collaborate,
Go Getters love to administrate and organize, and Master Minds love to calculate and monetize.

Your winning formula, is someone else’s losing formula.

But there are three ways to win at starting/scaling a successful business.
Here's how...
The first way to win is to ACQUIRE… a.k.a. to try and strengthen the areas you’re weaker at. It may be worth your while, Trail Blazer, investing some time and energy into acquiring those latter 3 skills if money is an object right now. Otherwise, you might want to skip this step and go straight to 2 or 3.
The second way to win is to HIRE… to invest money into working with those that have different professional-ity types to you, so you can keen your time and energy for that which you KNOW will bring you a return on your time and energetic investment.
A third way is to COLLABORATE, which is what Daniele and I (Natalie) did before we started building out our dream team. We saw that we were opposites in a lot of ways, and so partnered up to form the dynamic duo you see working so well with one another today. I take care of the more right-brained side, or front end of, the business, and Danielle the more left-brained, back end. We're both pretty introverted, though!

The Master Mind & The Super Connector

Master Minds’ zone of genius is the HOW and Super Connectors’ the WHO.

Master Minds are best at:
▲ Collecting and analysing data, to help CEOS make better business decisions

▲ Solving problems, including troubleshooting tech

▲ Financials - they’re awesome at accounting
And worst at:
▲ Anything that lies in the front-end of the business, they’re better in the back

▲ Networking - working a room (online or off) is their idea of HELL

▲ Connecting people with one another - they prefer to join all the DOTS

Super Connectors are best at:
▲ Working with others

▲ Putting the right people together to make magic

▲ Networking - working rooms online and off

And worst at:
▲ Working alone

▲ Working on more left-brained scientific or mathematical type-tasks

▲ Troubleshooting tech - these people are better at using tech to connect with people than solving problems with it

What position you best play in business
As a Trail Blazer, you’re best suited to the right-brain of the business - a.k.a. the side of the biz where the people that are more intuitive than sensing, and more extroverted than introverted, hang out.

You’re intuitive through and through, but may be introverted, extroverted or a bit of both in nature.

As we said above, you’re great at innovating ideas and creating content, which can be handed over to the Super Connectors to share online and off. The two of you will likely work with one another on marketing mostly - to make sure your product(s) and/or service(s) are put in front of the people they need to be.

You will also likely have dealings with Master Minds, who could crunch the numbers and report KPIS (a.k.a. key performance indicators) that tell you what’s worked and what hasn’t in the biz. You’d liaise with these lovely ladies (or gentleman!) to see the ways in which the stats support or falsify your thinkings and feelings really well - and be grateful to these guys for testing what’s been tried so you can continue doing what you do best.
What position you worst play in business
You aren’t very suited to Go Getting, a.k.a. the organization and administration.

Maybe you could find your Go Getting business bestie in The Société?
About the WHY

One thing you Trail Blazers have in common with all of the other personality types, is that each and every one of you have a WHY.

You might be better at the WHAT than the HOW or WHO…

You might be bad at the WHEN and the WHERE…

But WHY you want to (or wanted to) start your business -- nobody knows better than you do.

Nobody is better at the WHY part of the equation than you are.

The why, we believe, is the heart and soul of business.

The energy that gives it its driving force.

Lead with helping people, with making an impact, and the income, the 6 figures… the 7 figures… the 8 figures… will follow.

Join The Société if you have a why, and want to strengthen your how, who, when and where!
